Smart Metering is the smart option for the public sector

Smart meters are a major energy saving initiative and an essential tool for managing energy consumption, costs and CO2 emissions.

The new revision to the Energy Performance in Buildings Directive (EPBD) will mean that, in the near future, public bodies will have to produce Dislay Energy Certificates (DECs) for much smaller buildings that the current 1000m2 requirements. Smart metering systems can help produce these automatically.

Smart metering is only an option until 2014: equipment must either be in place by then or contracts for installation must already be in place.
